SAFF appoints Romanian Ioan Lopesco as a technical director of the Federation

The Saudi Arabian Football Federation has agreed with the Romanian Ioan Lopesco to work as a technical director of the federation, on a 3-year contract.

Lopesco has a successful career on and off the field for 35 years, most notably the UEFA Technical Director during the period from 2011-2020.

Lopesco has technical work experience, having been in charge of the training agreement and the European Union's Charter of Fundamental Rules and responsible for developing the Elite Young Players Program in Europe.

Lopesco also held a number of international positions and assignments, most notably a member of the Disciplinary Committee of the European Union, a member of the FIFA Technical Committee, in addition to membership in the Technical Study Group of the 2014 World Cup and the Club World Cup 2008, 2009 and 2014 versions.
