The National Team's Technical Manager, Juan Antonio Pizzi, said the Greens was in control in the match against Qatar, but individual mistakes caused the loss.
The National Team suffered a 0-2 loss to Qatar in the third round of Group E of the Asian Cup.
"We were trying to win as we look for the lead. We attacked but the defense line was not in a good shape at a time when our opponent's attack line was excellent," the Technical Manager said in a release after the match.
"Now, we have started to think about the match against Japan, and before today's match we had many advantages. We respect our competitors, and should learn from mistakes," he continued.
"I respect all opponents. There is no strong or weak opponent. We prepare for all competitors in the same way. I asked the players to control the ball in the middle of the pitch, but we lost control sometimes due to physical condition," Pizzi added.
He concluded: "Today, I added young elements to the Greens, and these elements will help us in the future."
