The 17th Edition of the Asian Nations Kicks off in the UAE with a Dazzling Ceremony


Under the patronage of Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Rashid Al Maktoum, the 17th edition of 2019 Asian Cup, hosted by the United Arab Emirates, has kicked off with a dazzling 13-minute ceremony.

The opening ceremony began with the participation of three artists from the UAE, namely Hussein Al Jasmi, Eida Al Menhali and Belqees, where they performed a singing lyrics portraying the slogan of the tournament.

The three artists performed a song entitled "Zanha Zayed" amid a great interaction by the fans who are present for the match between the UAE and Bahrain.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, Qusay Al-Fawaz, and a number of international sports figures, most importantly FIFA President, Gianni Infantino, President of the Asian Football Confederation, Sheikh Salman Al Khalifa, and many figures and heads of national sports federations in Asia.

The opening ceremony included a show by children who walked around the stadium carrying the flags of the countries participating in the championship.

The UAE will host the Asian Nations, for the second time in its history, until February 1, with the participation of 24 teams, over 51 matches to be run by 60 referees, and its competitions will be held on eight stadiums across four cities: Dubai, Sharjah, Al-Ain and Abu Dhabi.
