The National Team's Technical Manager, Juan Antonio Pizzi, stressed the importance of the Greens’ match against Qatar, which will be held on Thursday in the third round of Group E of the Asian Cup, at Zayed Sports City Stadium.
"We will try tomorrow to do our utmost to win although we have already qualified for the eight-final, but this will not change our strategy," Pizzi said at the press conference on the match.
About the list of tomorrow's match, the Coach said: "We have not yet decided whether Yasser Al-Shahrani will participate or not. As for the substitute for suspended player Salem Al-Dossari, we have a ready substitute for him".
"We will play with all our strength tomorrow and whatever opponent we face in the eighth-final of the Asian Cup, we are ready for them," he added.
"What matters in such tournaments is good results, and that is what happened to us in our first two matches against Lebanon and North Korea," he said.
Fahad Al-Muwallad said: "Our qualification does not mean that we underestimate the importance of tomorrow's match and we have committed ourselves to play every match with utmost strength."
"As a player, I have been watching many matches in the Asian Cup, and all teams had the ambition to reach the final and win the Cup, and we have committed ourselves within the team to have the highest ambition amongst the teams," he added.
"Our team is capable of winning against any team, from the start we are determined to achieve," he continued.
About the Greens’ opponent in the eighth-final, Al-Muwallad said: "We are determined to win the Cup, so it does not matter against whom we will play in the eighth-final".
