The National Team has qualified for Round 16 of the 2019 Asian Cup, currently being held in the United Arab Emirates, with a 2-0 win over its Lebanese counterpart, within the competitions of Group E.
The Green Falcons' two goals were scored by Fahad Al-Muwallad in the 12th minute of the match and Hussein Al-Meqhawi in the 67th minute.
Al-Muwallad managed to exploit a defensive error by the players of Lebanon by returning the ball backwards and then beautifully shooting a flying ball that ended in the net of Lebanon, announcing the Saudi team's prevalence 12 minutes after the start of the match.
On the other hand, a criss-cross passed into the penalty area by Hattan Bahebri was controlled by Al-Meqhawi who easily shot it into the net, strengthening the Green Falcons' prevalence in the 67th minute.
The Green Falcons' have maintained the lead of the Group with 6 points thanks to its previous win over North Korea in the first round with four goals without reply.
This is the first time for the Green to succeed in qualifying for the second round of the Asian Cup, since the 2007 edition.
