Under 21 National Team beat Iraq in their Friendly Match

Under 21 National Team won 2-1 over its guest, the Iraqi team, in their friendly match held today, Friday, evening at Riyadh Club Stadium, as a part of its camp held within the framework of the preparatory program for the 2020 AFC U-23 Championship Qualifiers.

The Greens’ two goals were scored by Striker Abdullah Al-Hamdan in the 15th and 33rd minutes of the first half, while the Iraqi team scored its only goal in the 81st minute from a penalty kick.

Technical Manager Saad Al-Shihri entered the match with a list including: Saleh Al-Wahaimd as a goalkeeper, Abdulla Hassoun, Faisal Darcy, Aoun Al-Salouli, Monif Doshi, Nasser Al-Omran, Hussein Al-Nakhli, Haitham Al-Khalif, Ayman Al-Hajili, Hassan Al-Qaid and Abdullah Al-Hamdan.

The match was attended by the Chairman of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, Qusay Al-Fawaz, and the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq to the Kingdom, Dr. Qahtan Al-Janabi.

On the other hand, the Chairman of the Saudi Arabian Federation, Qusay Al-Fawaz, called upon the players, in the meeting he had with them following the friendly match, to do their best and show their high technical level and capabilities in order to achieve the National Team's goal of qualifying for the AFC U-23 Championship 2020 and passing from it to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Qusay Al-Fawaz praised the technical levels and good results in the trials, wishing success to the National Team in its journey to the Olympics. 

It should be noted that the Greens will host in March the matches of its Group, including the teams of the UAE, Lebanon and the Maldives, in the qualifiers for the Asian Cup to be held in Thailand at the beginning of next year. The top three teams of the tournament will qualify to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
