The national team continued its training Friday in the Marbella camp in Spain. This is the fourth phase of the program to prepare for the 2018 World Cup to be held in Russia. The national team’s technical director Juan Antonio Pizzi conducted a morning session. This was meant to be measure and power tests for a number of players in the gym located at the residence of the team delegation by using specialized measurement devices. In the evening sessions held on the training fields at the Marbella Sports Center, speed and endurance tests were conducted for all players.
The Argentinian coach divided the players into three groups during the tests which were concluded with stretching exercises using physical equipment. The goalkeepers coach also conducted special exercises for the goalkeepers.
On the other hand, the member of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Football Federation and the Manager of the national team Omar Bakhshwain, held a meeting this afternoon attended by all the bodies, during which he spoke about the importance of the current stage, which requires high concentration and perfect discipline to achieve the objectives of this stage by benefiting from all programs prepared for this purpose.
In the meeting, Juan Pizzi introduced the Director of Sports Science at the British Chelsea Club Dr. Tim Harkness who will work with players on the mental aspects.
On Saturday, the national team will hold an evening training session at 5:30 pm "Spain time" on the training fields at the Marbella Sports Center.
In addition, midfielder Abdullah Al-Khaibari stressed the importance of the current stage of the preparation program. He described the beautiful atmosphere of the camp as all players are keen to achieve the full benefit of the camp and to achieve the objectives set by the technical staff.
Al- Khaibari praised the support he is receiving from his fellow teammates to get familiar with the team and to help it benefit from the training.
Al- Khaibari further stressed that he will do his best to be selected by the technical director and to give all he has to serve the team.
