Saudi Arabia reach AFC U-23 Championship

Saudi U-23 national team reached AFC U-23 Championship after a 1-1 draw with United Arab Emirates, at Prince Faisal Bin Fahd Stadium, in the final match of the qualifications Group D.

The Young Green Falcons came second in Group D with 7 points, behind UAE on goal difference.

Zayed Al-Omeri put UAE in front after 51 minutes, before Saad Al-Saloli netted the hosts equalizer in the 64th minute.

The Saudi starting 11 comprised: Mohamed Al-Rabie, Abdalla Hasson, Hassam Tembekti, Abd Al-Elah A-Amri, Abdel Rahman Gharib, Nasser Al-Omran, Abdel Rahman Al-Yami, Abdalla Yossif, Hassan Al-Qeid, Saad Al-Saloli and Mohamed Al-Megehd.

It must be noted that the Saudi team overcame Maldives and Lebanon 6-0 and 2-0 in a row in the first two rounds.
