Saudi U-23 national team finish preparations for Maldives game in AFC U-23 Championship qualifications

Saudi U-23 national team will open its campign in AFC U-23 Championship qualifications Group D, at Prince Faisal Bin Fahd Stadium, in Riyadh, against Maldvies on Friday at 8:25 p.m.

The Young Green falcons concluded preparations for Maldvies with a training at Prince Faisal Bin Fahd reverse Stadium under the supervision of coach Saad Al-Shehri and the assistant technical staff.

The training focused on set peices in the ofensive and defensive situations after conducting exercises on the reaction at the beginning of the training.

On the other hand, coach Saad Al-Shehri affirmed at a press conference ahead of Maldives game that Saudi Arabia target qualification for Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, through reaching AFC U-23 Championship.

"Over the year, we have worked on the project of qualifying to the Asian cup by holding camps inside and outside the country in addition to playing several friendlies", he added.

Al-Shehri confirmed that Maldives game in very important as Maldives is like the other teams in the group must be respected.

"All the players of the Saudi U-23 national team have the desire to reach the Asian cup and I am confident that our players can achieve this target", he continued.

"We have a distinguished group of players who can be developed to form the basic unit of the Saudi Senior team in 2022 world cup qualifiers", he added.

The Saudi team coach invited the Saudi fans to attend in large numbers to support the Young Green Falcons.

On the other hand, a coordination meeting was held by the Asian Football Confederation, AFC, represented in the supervisors of Group D matches, for the representatives of teams of the group.

The Saudi U-23 national team was represented by the team manager Naif Al-Qadi, national teams media coordinator Faisal Al-Morshdi, national team administrative Abdel Mohsen Al-Gamaan and custody officer Ahmed Al-Qarni.

The meeting featured explanation to many of the technical, organizational, administrative and media issues.

The Saudi team will wear all white in the three games of AFC U-23 Championship qualifications.
