Tomorrow, Monday, the National Team under 16 will start its participation in the World "Sport Shin" Championship versus Russia's Team in their match to be held at 4:00 pm Spain time (6:00 pm KSA time) at Bolios Portillo Municipality Stadium, Alicante County, within the green-shirted team's preparatory program for the Asian Qualifiers.
In the exercising session held yesterday, Sunday, evening the Technical Staff held a recreational exercise for the players, following the warmup activities, a standard procedure at the start of the exercise session.
It is worth noting that the competitions of the World "Sport Shin" Championship includes, alongside the green-shirted team, the teams of Spain, Mexico, Russia, Northern Ireland, and the Czech Republic.
The National Team's Technical Manager, Abdulwahab Al-Harbi, stated that this is the fourth preparation stage within the program which the green-shirted team's Technical Staff developed in advance to prepare for the Asian Qualifiers, indicating that the participation in a championship of such size and level and alongside technically-outstanding major teams is a great technical advantage for the players, gaining a strong exposure from an early age.
Al-Harbi said that the first preparation stage was in Jeddah, i.e. the selection of players which involved gathering 63 players in two stages for the category of 2004 births, which does not participate in local competitions. This was followed by a camp with physical and tactical goals in the Eastern Province, aiming to qualify the players to play friendly matches that are technically strong. This was carried out in the third phase in Riyadh, in which the green-shirted team beat its brother, the UAE National Team, in two friendly matches.
In conclusion, Abdulwahab Al-Harbi said: "There are still many stages ahead of us in our preparatory program for the Qualifiers, as we will participate in two friendly championships in the UAE and Macedonia, in addition to many camps scheduled until the AFC U-16 Championship 2020 Qualifiers kick off."
