Our National Team lands in St. Petersburg

On Saturday evening, the National Team delegation arrived to the Russian city of Saint Petersburg, the team’s camp, to prepare for the 2018 World Cup hosted by Russia. The National Team will play the opener against the hosts next Thursday.

The delegation was headed by Adel bin Mohammed Ezzat, Saudi Football Federation Chairman. Nawaf Al-Temyat, Saudi Arabia Football Federation Vice Chairman and Head of the World Cup Preparation team, Loay Al-Subayi, Secretary-General of the Saudi Football Federation and member of the preparation team, accompanied the delegation as well as administrative, technical and medical staff, and the 23 players of the National Team.

Upon arrival at St. Petersburg International Airport, the delegation was received by Dr. Raed Qarmli, Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in the Russian Federation and a delegation from the Embassy.

Adel bin Mohammed Ezzat, Chairman of the Saudi Football Federation sincerely thanked King Salman bin Abdulaziz, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, may Allah protect them, for their support and sponsorship which led the Saudi team to qualify for the 2018 World Cup and for their continuous support throughout the World cup preparation stages. The Chairman of the Federation also praised the unlimited support and continuous follow-up by H.E. Mr. Turki bin Abdul Mohsen Al-Sheikh, Advisor to the Royal Court and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Sport Authority, which had a great impact in exploiting all potentials throughout the preparation stages of our National Team until the end of this current stage before the start of the tournament. The Chairman of the Federation further confirmed that the participation of the Saudi team in the World Cup for the fifth time reflects the leading role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in all fields, including sports.

At the end of his statement, Adel Ezzat, Chairman of the Federation, praised the Saudi team players and the technical and administrative staff for their professional performance and high discipline during the preparation stages, praying to Allah for the success of Saudi Falcons in the World Cup and that they will do their best to please their fans in KSA and all over the world.
