On Sunday evening, Adel bin Mohammed Ezzat, Chairman of the Saudi Football Federation, honored Saudi traveler Fahad Al Yahya, at the headquarters of the National Team in the Russian city of Saint Petersburg. Al Yahya had arrived in Russia on his bicycle after riding 5,455 kilometers, on a 75-day trip across four countries, in celebration of the National Team’s participation in the World Cup in Russia.
During the meeting with Al Yahya which was attended by Loay Al-Subaie, Secretary General of the Saudi Football Association, Adel Ezzat praised Al-Yaha’s determination after facing all circumstances in order to support the National Team.
Al Yahya confirmed that his trip started on the fourth of Rajab, and was inaugurated by His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Riyadh region, where he received the KSA flag from His Highness.
He added: “I was honored to hand over the KSA flag to Dr. Raed Qarmli, Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in Moscow, last Tuesday”.
Al Yahya thanked Advisor Mr. Turki bin Abdulmohsen Al-Sheikh, Chairman of the General Sport Authority, for his support before starting his trip. He further added that the General Sport Authority contributed in the completion of his trip along with the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the General Directorate of Passports, the General Directorate of Narcotics Control, the Port of Duba and King Saud Medical City.
He added: “The government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques removed all obstacles and I thank them for what they have offered me during the trip, through which I faced no difficulties whatsoever except the weather and hill climbing”.
