“The Russian national team is strong. They are the hosts so we will focus on the match itself. I believe that the team with the least mistakes and the highest concentration will win”, Otayf continued.

The Midfielder reiterated that he believes in his teammates, and that the team will play honorably in the opener. This reflects the great support the National Team has received in the last period.

Al-Shehri further stated that the players have spent a lot of time at the training camps, and hoped that this would be in the interest of the team in its upcoming match.

Al-Shehri said that the opener will be a difficult match as it is the opening match of the World Cup and against the hosts, adding that the team is ready to achieve its goals and ambitions in this world tournament.

He added: “We have familiarized ourselves with the Russian team in the friendly matches. However, these matches are not to be relied on. Official matches are quite different from friendly matches and we look forward to wining and scoring the three points”.
