
Riyadh hosts the regular gathering of the elite field referees of the West Asian federations

The Referees Committee of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF), in Riyadh will host the regular gathering of the elite referees of the western continent’s federations in the Asian Football Confederation, starting yesterday, Monday, until next Friday.
The gathering, which is being held for the first time in Riyadh, aims to keep the “elite” referees fully prepared for the upcoming Asian events.
The gathering witnesses the participation of 75 Asian referees, including 5 Saudis: Muhammad Al-Huwaish, Khaled Al-Taris, Shukri Al-Hanfoush, Majed Al-Shamrani and Faisal Al-Balawi.
The referees participating in the gathering are scheduled to undergo theoretical and field exercises, physical fitness tests, and an explanation of the recent amendments to the Football Law, in addition to training on the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology.
