The U-23 West Asian Football Federation Championship which will be hosted by Saudi Arabia from 4 to 12 October, will kick off in Dammam and Al-Khobar, on Monday, with the participation of 11 teams.
The draw for the tournament, which was held on September 12, resulted in the teams of Jordan, Yemen, Kuwait and Oman in the first group, while the second group included Palestine, UAE, Lebanon and Iraq, while the national team came at the head of the third group, which includes the teams of Bahrain and Syria. .
Prince Muhammad bin Fahd Stadium in Dammam and Prince Saud bin Jalawi Stadium in Al Khobar will host the championship matches, as the two matches of the national team in the group stage will be held at Prince Muhammad bin Fahd Stadium in Dammam.
For his part, the President of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, Yasser Al-Misehal, welcomed the delegations of the participating teams, wishing them success and a pleasant stay in their second country, and that the new version of the U-23 West Asian Football Federation Championship would come out in the best way.
Al-Misehal valued the unlimited support given by the wise leadership to the sports sector, which contributed to hosting many major sporting events in Saudi Arabia in recent years, especially in football, a support that was among its fruits the hosting this tournament.
The President of the SAFF thanked His Highness, Minister of Sports Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal for his efforts to overcome all obstacles and facilitate all matters to host this tournament, wishing success for the national team by presenting an honorable image and achieving the title to be added to the series of recent successes of Saudi football.
