The NT U-23 continues its preparations for the WAFF Championship

Today, Sunday, the U-23 national team continued its training as part of its preparations to participate in the U-23 West Asian Football Federation Championship 2021, which will start from 4 to 12 October in Dammam and Al Khobar.

The U-23 national team players conducted their training session this evening at Al-Nahda Club Stadium, under the supervision of coach Saad Al-Shehri and the assistant technical staff.

The session started by applying a passing exercise, followed by a tactical exercise on building from the back, to conclude the training session with a mini-maneuver to implement the technical goal.

The under-23 national team will continue its training at 6 pm tomorrow, Monday, at Al-Nahda Club Stadium, in preparation for facing Syria next Wednesday in the third group of the tournament, which includes Bahrain national team.

On the other hand, the coach of the under-23 national team, Saad Al-Shehri, explained during the press conference held this evening that his goal in this tournament, in addition to competing for it, is to prepare for the qualifiers for the U-23 AFC Asian Cup2022, to be held at the end of this month in Kuwait, he pointed out that the WAFF Championship is a strong preparation for the technical value of the participating teams.

Saad Al-Shehri indicated that they have in the technical staff a longer-term goal towards the Olympic Games (Paris 2024), explaining that participation in strong tournaments comes as an early preparation to reach the next Olympics.

On the other hand, the West Asian Football Federation, represented by the organizing committee of the tournament, held a coordination meeting in the presence of the participating team managers, during which a number of logistical, security, marketing, media and medical organizations were discussed, and the “white” kit was approved during the two matches of the national team in the group stage.
