The Saudi Arabian Football Federation would like to confirm that Al-Nassr Club has submitted a complaint to the Professionalism and Players Conditions Committee against Al-Ittihad Club, some of its administrators and one of its players.
Knowing that the Professionalism and Players Conditions Committee was aware of a case pending with FIFA related to the same parties, it requested the legal department of the SAFF to inquire from the competent authority at FIFA regarding determining the jurisdiction to consider the complaint submitted.
In its response dated 19 April, FIFA stated that cases of an “international dimension” involving a non-Saudi player - even if he was registered with the same association as the club - were considered by FIFA.
In its response, FIFA indicated that the part relating to the club and the player is within the jurisdiction of their judicial authorities, which are currently looking into a similar dispute, and that this case (which was inquired about) appears to bear similarities with respect to the parties and the subject matter.
Accordingly, the Professionalism and Players Conditions Committee has begun to complete its progress in the complaint in the part that falls within its competence according to the regulations.
The Legal Department, the Professionalism Committee and the Players Conditions in the Saudi Arabian Football Federation welcomes any inquiries from all clubs to clarify any matters related to the regulations governing the work of the SAFF’s committees.
In conclusion, SAFF confirms the keenness of all its committees to implement the stipulated rules and regulations, and details of the pending issues will not be commented on, in order to preserve the rights of all parties.
