Croatian coach Mato Stonkovic stressed the importance of these two matches, noting: "We are now in our third and final stage of our preparatory program to participate in the Gulf Sports Games, and we must test what we have worked on over the past period, to enhance the positive aspects and develop the negative aspects before Leaving for Kuwait this week."

Stonkovic added: "Playing with Croatia in two matches is positive for us, and will contribute to the development of our performance and reach the level we aspire to."
