Saudi Olympics team concludes preparations for Japan in the presence of Al Misehal

The Saudi Arabia u-23 national team, will open their campaign, at the 2020 AFC U-23 Championship, Thailand, which will determine the qualified teams to Tokyo 2020 Olympics, against Japan, at 8:15 P.M, (Thailand time), 4:15 (KSA time), at Tamasat Stadium, Bangkok.


On the ground, the Saudi team trained at Wednesday evening, at Apline 1 Stadium, under the supervision of manager, Saad Al-Shehri, as the session was kicked off with rebound exercises followed by set pieces exercises, in cases of attack and defense.

The training session witnessed the attendance of, the president of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, SAFF, Yasser Al Misehal, who held a meeting with the players after the training, to urge them to do their best in the coming period in order to qualify to Tokyo Olympics.


On the other hand, the Asian Football Confederation, AFC, represented in the organizing committee of the AFC U-23 Championship, held the coordinating meeting for Group B teams which discussed a number of logistical, organizational, marketing, media and medical topics, in addition to approving the Green Kit for the Saudi team over the championship.

For his part, manager Saad Al-Shehri, confirmed during the press conference which was held to talk about the Saudi team first game, that the long term preparatory program has achieved a lot of its goals, stressing that the power of the preparation was represented in the strength and variety of friendly games played.

"We hope that this will be reflected in the championship by achieving great results, we have a great confidence in our players to do that", Al-Shehri added.

"Japan team is a distinguished team technically, they are already qualified so they will not feel pressured, this might be postive for us , but we will play according to our plans and preparation", he added.

Al-Shehri sees the group as one of the most strongest groups in the championship, because of the technical and tactical variety of its teams, pointing out that they worked on analysing the opponents to achieve good results.
