
Al-Riyadh was crowned as the champion of the Women's First Division League

The member of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, General Supervisor of Women’s Football Department, Lamia bint Ibrahim bin Bahian, crowned Al-Riyadh Club as the champions of the Women's First Division League 2022-2023, after winning the final match over Al-Muttahed Club by penalty kicks after a positive draw with a goal for both teams at the sports hall stadium in King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, in the presence of the Director of the Women’s Football Department, Alia Al-Rasheed, and both Shawq Al-Saleh and Lamia Bin Aftan, as representatives of the Women’s Football Department
Al-Riyadh was crowned with the championship title after leading its group, which included Al-Himma and Al-Nosour Al-Dhahabiya teams, then surpassing the sixteenth over Al-Nosour Club with two goals to one, and in the semi-final match, Al-Riyadh beat Nejma Jeddah before achieving the title by winning the final match against Al-Muttahed, to promote to the Women’s Premier League.
Al-Muttahed came in second place after leading its group, which included Al-Nosour, Al-Taraji and Al-Fulaij, then beating Al-Himma and Fakhr Jeddah teams in the quarter and semi-finals, respectively.
Fakhr Jeddah won the third place after it won the third-place match by five goals over Nejma Jeddah.
The financial prizes for the first-division champion are 150,000 riyals, the second place winner gets 120,000 riyals, and the third place winner gets 100,000 riyals.
The coronation witnessed the honoring of Al-Muttahed's player Kholoud Saleh as the best goalkeeper, and Sahm's player Rahma Ghars as the tournament's top scorer, and Fakhr Jeddah's player Ibtisam bin Mohammed as the best player.
The board member Lamia bint Ibrahim bin Bahian congratulated Al-Riyadh Club for achieving the title and qualifying for the Women's Premier League, praising the outstanding level of the team in this season.
She added: "We are happy with the achievement achieved during this season in the Women's First Division League. I thank everyone who worked alongside us to achieve success in this way, and we promise that the development in women's football competitions will continue during the coming seasons".
