Al-Shabab Club has officially completed its acquisition of Al-Yamamah Club, one of the SAFF women's Premier League clubs, to become the second club acquired by Al-Shabab after its acquisition of Al-Asifa Club in October last year.
On the other hand, the Competitions Committee of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation decided, after Al-Shabab’s acquisition of Al-Yamamah, to promote Al-Muttahed Club, the runner-up of the Women's First Division League, for the 2022-2023 season, to replace Al-Yamamah in the Premier League for the next sports season 2023-2024, and to complete the number of league clubs.
Al-Shabab Club finished last season in the first edition of the Women’s Premier League in third place with 26 points, while Al-Yamamah finished fourth with 21 points.
