The President of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, Yasser Al Misehal, today, Thursday, met the players and employees of the U-23 national team at the national team’s residence in Riyadh, on the sidelines of the gathering before traveling to France to participate in Maurice Revello International Tournament (Toulon Tournament), from 2 to 18 June, in preparation for the qualifiers for the U-23 AFC Asian Cup 2024.

Al Misehal praised the level of care and great interest of the players in appearing optimally while representing the country, wishing them success in the stages of preparation for the qualifiers for the U-23 AFC Asian Cup.

The national team delegation is scheduled to leave early tomorrow, Friday, for France to compete in the international tournament, along with the first group teams that include the hosts France, Venezuela and Costa Rica.

The national team will open its participation in Toulon Tournament against France on Monday, June 5, then will face Venezuela on Thursday, June 8, and on Sunday, June 11, the national team will face Costa Rica.

On the other hand, the coaching staff of the U-23 national team allowed the player Awad Al-Nashiri not to join the delegation due to his mother’s health conditions and to check on her.

It is noteworthy that the participation of the under-23 national team in Toulon Tournament comes as part of the preparation program for the Asian qualifiers, which will start in September, and qualifies for the AFC Asian Cup in Qatar 2024, which qualifies to participate in the Olympic Games (Paris 2024).
