Al-Shabab, Al-Fateh, Ettifaq, Al-Fayha, Abha, Al-Wehda and Al-Khaleej clubs will participate in the second edition of the reserve league for the next sports season 2023-2024.

This comes based on the decision of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation after the agreement with Roshn Saudi League clubs to continue participating in the reserve league optional in the next season, similar to what happened in the last season 2022-2023.

The decision came based on the meeting held by the Competitions Committee with the clubs of Roshn Saudi League and the Professional League, listening to points of view and reviewing the calendar of the next sports season, which will witness a number of participations and camps for national teams, as the first national team will participate in the AFC Asian Cup in Qatar and the under 23 AFC Asian Cup in April.

It is scheduled that the clubs participating in the reserve league for the next season will receive an amount of 5 million riyals, representing support for participation, in addition to raising the number of players registered in the first team from 30 to 35 players.

On the other hand, the Competitions Committee of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation will hold a coordination meeting with the seven clubs, the day after tomorrow, Wednesday, to discuss the start of the reserve league for the next season, through video communication.

Ettifaq was crowned as the champion of the first edition of the Saudi Reserve League last season, which witnessed the participation of 7 clubs: Ettifaq, Al-Shabab, Abha, Al-Fateh, Al-Fayha, Al-Taei and Al-Wehda.
