The Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) and the Saudi Professional League decided to amend the number of players registered in the first team rosters for the Saudi Roshan Professional League clubs to 25 players instead of the previous number of 30 players, taking into account the right of each club to register 10 non-Saudi players, starting from the next season2024-2025, according to the following requirements:
1- Eight non-Saudi players without specifying a minimum date of birth.
2- Two non-Saudi players born in 2003 or later on, with the aim of enhancing the investment aspect of talent in the clubs.
3- Each club continues to have the right to register one professional player (born in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia), who must be born in 1998 or later on.
4- Each team participating in the Roshan Saudi Professional League has the right to register a maximum of 8 non-Saudi players on the roster for each match, in addition to the professional born in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (this excludes the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup and Saudi Super Cup competitions, where all non-Saudi players can participate).
The decision comes after coordination with the club support strategy, the management of the national teams and the technical director of the SAFF, in addition to holding a number of workshops with the clubs.
