Saudi Arabia's coastal city of Jeddah is set to host Paris 2024 Olympic Games qualifying match between DPR Korea and Japan. The match is part of the final round of the Asian qualifiers for Paris 2024. The encounter is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 24 February at the Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Stadium in Jeddah, with the return fixture taking place in Tokyo four days later.
The Asian Football Confederation's (AFC) decision to select Saudi Arabia as match host reflects the ongoing cooperation and strong relationship between the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) and the AFC, which strives to develop football and create new opportunities across the continent.
Lamia Bahaian, Vice President of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) said: "We are delighted to welcome the national teams of DPR Korea and Japan to Saudi Arabia, we wish them an enjoyable stay and a match that highlights the immense progress in women's football in Asia.
"We're fully committed to supporting this important qualifier, showcasing our trusted capacity to host such significant football matches."
Saudi Arabia is currently hosting its first-ever 11-aside women's football tournament - the West Asian Football Federation (WAFF) Women's Championship. It comes after two editions of successfully hosting the Women's International Friendly Tournament, the first of which saw Saudi Arabia crowned as champions.
