Lamia Bahaian, Vice President of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF), expressed her pride in hosting the Paris 2024 Olympics qualifier between DPR Korea and Japan. She stated: “We are honored to host this prestigious match and showcase our commitment to the growth of women's football."

The first leg of the match in Jeddah ended in a 0-0 draw. Bahaian commended the skills and determination displayed by both teams, saying: “Both teams showed great talent and determination on the field." The teams will have another chance to compete in Tokyo for a spot in the Paris 2024 Olympics.
