Riyadh, August 12, 2024 - The Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF), in cooperation with SMC, the
exclusive marketing partner of the Saudi Federation, signed a partnership agreement with Diriyah
Company to sponsor the Saudi Super Cup for the second year in a row, to be called the "Diriyah Saudi
Super Cup", which will be held in the city of Abha during the period from August 13 to 17, with the
participation of Al-Hilal, Al-Nassr, Al-Ahli and Al-Taawoun clubs.
The renewal of the partnership between the two parties comes after the success of the partnership in
the previous edition of the tournament, which was held in the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi, during the period
from April 8 to 11, where Al Hilal was crowned champion of the Diriyah Saudi Super Cup.
Mr. Jerry Inzerillo, CEO of the Diriyah Gate Company Group, confirmed that “the great popularity
enjoyed by Saudi football and its popular teams was the biggest incentive behind renewing the
partnership with the SAFF to sponsor the Diriyah Saudi Super Cup again, noting that the Diriyah Gate
Company seeks to benefit from the activity and promotional path of the sports field and the attention it
receives as a result of gaining great advantages in light of the presence of a number of international
players and the remarkable increase in the level of competition.”
For his part, the Secretary-General of the SAFF, Ibrahim bin Suleiman Al-Qassim, explained that the
renewal of the agreement with the Diriyah Company is an indication of the great success achieved in the
previous edition, which was named "Diriyah Saudi Super Cup" and witnessed strong competition
between Al-Hilal, Al-Ittihad, Al-Nassr and Al-Wehda.
This agreement also comes within the framework of the efforts of the Saudi Football Federation to
create investment and marketing opportunities that contribute to increasing revenues and diversifying
the sources of income of the Saudi Federation, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
"We at the Football Federation are proud of the continuation of this sponsorship, which contributes to
highlighting the most important cultural, heritage and tourism destinations in the Kingdom, and
introducing their historical, cultural and competitive tourism advantages that they enjoy, and
highlighting the extent of the support and great development achieved in them. This partnership
embodies the directions of government agencies and the public and private sectors in developing
alliances that raise the level of competitiveness and enhance investment steps in supporting the
Kingdom's directions.", Al-Qassim added.
“We are proud to renew this partnership with Diriyah Sports Company, which reflects our commitment
to enhancing the sports scene in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and strengthening its position on the
international stage in line with the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.”, Mr. Khalid bin Waleed
Alkhudair, CEO of SMC said.
Alkhudair added that the success of the previous edition strengthened the position of the Saudi Super
Cup as one of the most prominent sports tournaments in the region, before adding “Our cooperation

with Diriyah comes within the framework of our commitment to providing a distinguished sports
experience that reflects the great progress achieved by the Kingdom in various fields.”
This partnership comes within the Diriyah plan that supports investment and development witnessed by
the sports sector, by sponsoring and hosting various sports tournaments, such as Formula E, equestrian
tournaments, tennis and boxing tournaments, with the aim of highlighting the first tourist destination
for heritage and culture in the Kingdom, with its historical extension and pioneering role, and
implementing sustainable projects in its elements that stem from heritage and authenticity, with a new
lifestyle that achieves the aspirations of its residents and visitors, in addition to conveying an attractive
image of Diriyah through sports.
