Referees Committee hands over international badge to accredited Saudi international referees for 2025

The Referees Committee of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) handed over today, Wednesday, the international badge to accredited Saudi international referees for 2025, who were accredited by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) and included 21 male referees and 3 female referees.
The list of Saudi referees accredited by FIFA included (8) field referees, namely Mohammed Al-Huwaish, Faisal Al-Balawi, Shukri Al-Hanfoush, Mohammed Al-Samaeel, Abdullah Al-Shehri, Majed Al-Shamrani, Khaled Al-Turais, and Hiba Al-Awaidi.
The list also included (10) assistant referees, namely Mohammed Al-Abkari, Abdul Rahim Al-Shammari, Ibrahim Al-Dakhil, Omar Al-Jamal, Faisal Al-Qahtani, Hisham Al-Rifai, Khalaf Al-Shammari, Saad Al-Subaie, Yasser Al-Sultan, and Iman Al-Madani.
The list of VAR referees included (6) referees: Mohammed Al-Huwaish, Sultan Al-Harbi, Mamdouh Al-Shahdan, Majed Al-Shamrani, Abdullah Al-Shahri and Khaled Al-Turais, while it included Yahya Al-Athwani and Reem Al-Bishi as futsal referees, and Hamed Al-Maliki for beach soccer.
This came on the sidelines of the periodic gathering for the Roshn Professional League referees, which started the day before yesterday, Monday, February 10, and continued for 3 days in Qassim.
The periodic meeting witnessed the implementation of the agenda in its theoretical and practical aspects, as the meeting included lectures on analyzing some refereeing cases, including hand ball touches inside the penalty area, offside, and the role of assistant referees, in addition to fitness training for referees.
The meeting also witnessed theoretical and practical lectures on the video assistant referee (VAR) technology, and the cases in which the technology requires intervention.
The periodic meeting of referees of the Yelo League for first division professional clubs was held during the period from February 7-9 in Qassim, which witnessed theoretical and practical lectures that included an analysis of some refereeing cases and the mechanism of intervention and communication with the video assistant referee (VAR) technology, in addition to fitness training for referees.
These periodic meetings of referees come within the efforts of the Referees Committee of the SAFF to develop the performance of referees and harness all capabilities to appear in the best image in local competitions and enhance their ability to shine regionally, continentally and internationally.
