Workshops for Match Commissioners, Media Coordinators, and Security Officials Conclude in Taif

The Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF)'s Department of Observers and Coordinators, in cooperation with the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), held workshops for match observers, media coordinators, and security officials in Taif. The workshops were held on the sidelines of the Kingdom's hosting of the AFC U-17 Championship, currently being held in Taif and Jeddah.
The workshops were held from April 14-16.
AFC lecturer Ronnie John Sohatrail presented the workshop for officials, which was attended by 197 officials from all regions of the Kingdom. He gave a detailed presentation on all duties and responsibilities, including an explanation of the IFAP Laws of the Game and its updates, the tasks and roles involved in hosting international tournaments, and stadium preparation procedures.
AFC lecturer Christopher Raj presented the media coordinators' workshop, which reviewed the roles and responsibilities of the media coordinator, the mechanism for preparing media facilities in the stadium, and an explanation of continental and international media laws and regulations. The workshops were attended by 50 media coordinators from across the Kingdom.
The workshops concluded with a workshop, the first of its kind in the Kingdom, for security coordinators, presented by AFC lecturer Chin Kamoli, the workshop was attended by 48 security coordinators from across the Kingdom. The workshop included an explanation of the roles and responsibilities of the security coordinator, crowd management at matches, security and safety procedures, and how to handle them using modern methods, in addition to numerous tasks related to security coordination.
For his part, Moeid Al-Shehri, a member of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation's Board of Directors and General Supervisor of the Observers Department, stated that these workshops are part of the Observers Department's plan to develop national cadres capable of keeping pace with major events hosted by the Kingdom. He thanked the AFC for its continuous cooperation in making these lectures a success.
It is worth noting that the Observers and Coordinators Department has, over the past five years, trained more than 500 observers, more than 70 media coordinators, and more than 50 security coordinators.
