NEOM Club was crowned champion of the third edition of the SAFF Women's First Division League for the 2024-2025 season on Saturday, after defeating Al-Anqa'a team in the 17th round, in a match held at King Khalid Stadium in Tabuk, 7-0.
This is NEOM's first title in its first official participation, following a distinguished season in which it topped the overall standings of the First Division League.
This season, the tournament system was modified, with the competition being held in a full league format (home and away) with the participation of nine teams: Riyadh, Abha, Al-Anqa'a, Al-Himmah, Jeddah, NEOM, Al-Shu'la, Ittihad Al-Nusour, Al-Bairaq, and Al-Wehda, over 18 rounds and a total of 90 matches.
NEOM also received a cash prize of 750,000 Saudi riyals for winning the title.
This season saw the promotion of Najma Jeddah and Al-Nahda to the fourth edition of the SAFF Women's First Division League, as efforts continue to expand competition and develop women's football in the Kingdom.
For her part, the Vice President of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, Lamia bint Ibrahim bin Bahyan, congratulated NEOM on this remarkable achievement, stressing that the victory reflects the club's great efforts and support for the development of women's football.
The Director of the Women's Football Department, Alia Al-Rasheed, praised the outstanding performance of the season, noting that the expansion of the number of teams and the modernization of tournament regulations align with the Federation's strategy to raise the level of competition and enable players to develop their capabilities in preparation for representing the national teams.
