The Saudi Arabia women's national team concluded its ten-day training camp in the Thai capital, Bangkok, as part of the second phase of the preparation program for the 2026 AFC Women's Asian Cup qualifiers.
The technical staff, led by Spanish coach Luis Cortes, focused on strengthening tactical and physical skills, as well as raising the level of performance through daily training sessions and a closed-door friendly match. This was part of a focused preparation plan before the start of the qualifiers.
The national team delegation is scheduled to depart for Phnom Penh, the Cambodian capital, on Thursday afternoon, where the players are preparing for the qualifying challenge in a group that includes the Philippines, Hong Kong, and Cambodia. The matches will be held from June 29 to July 5 at the National Olympic Stadium.
Alia bint Abdulaziz Al-Rasheed, Director of the Women's Football Department at the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF), expressed her satisfaction with the achievements made during the camp, emphasizing the importance of this phase.
"We continue to work confidently toward our goal, and the camp in Thailand was an opportunity to enhance harmony and technical discipline before the qualifiers.", she added.
The national team will play its first match against the Philippines on June 29, then face Hong Kong on July 2, and conclude its journey against the host nation, Cambodia, on July 5.
The national team's participation in the qualifiers marks a new milestone in the development of women's national teams, backed by the continued support of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, reflecting its commitment to expanding the competitive base for continental and international participation.
