The Saudi national futsal team lost its final match in the 2025 Intercontinental Futsal Cup, against Thailand, 3-2, in a match held today, Sunday, at the Nonthaburi Arena in Bangkok.
The goals for the Saudi Futsal Team were scored by Farhan Al-Asmari and Abdullah Maghribi.
Thus, the national team concluded its participation in the tournament by taking second place and winning the silver medals, following a journey full of positive results.
The Saudi team achieved a perfect score in the group stage with victories over Australia, Zambia, and Belarus, followed by a semi-final victory over Chinese Taipei.
The tournament also saw Saudi goalkeeper Hamoud Al-Dahan crowned Best Goalkeeper of the Tournament for his outstanding performance and remarkable brilliance throughout the tournament.
The Green Futsal Team's participation in this international friendly tournament is part of the preparatory technical program for the 2026 AFC Futsal Asian Cup qualifiers, which will be hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Dammam from September 20 to 24.
The draw for the qualifiers, held on June 6, placed the national team in Group D alongside Iraq, Pakistan, and Chinese Taipei.
