The Saudi U-23 national team held a training session in Jeddah on Sunday in preparation for The 2026 AFC U-23 Asian Cup, which will be hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and runs until January 24th.
The players trained this evening at the King Abdullah Sports City training ground under the supervision of Italian coach Luigi Di Biagio and his assistant coaching staff. The session included fitness drills, followed by tactical exercises, and concluded with a full-field maneuver.
The Saudi U-23 team will conclude training on Monday evening at 6:00 PM in preparation for their match against Kyrgyzstan on Tuesday evening in the first round of the AFC U-23 Asian Cup.
Meanwhile, coach Luigi Di Biagio excluded Abdulmalik Al-Jaber from the squad due to a lack of match fitness, while Bassam Hazazi was called up to join the camp.
On another note, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), represented by the Organizing Committee for the 2026 AFC U-23 Asian Cup, held a welcome meeting for the Saudi national team at their residence in Jeddah.
During the meeting, tournament regulations, updates to the Laws of the Game, and integrity protocols for matches were explained.
It is worth noting that the Saudi U-23 national team is in Group A of the 2026 AFC U-23 Asian Cup, alongside Vietnam, Jordan, and Kyrgyzstan.
