The SAFF Approves Saudi Girls' U-17 Premier League schedule for 2026-2027 Season

The Saudi Arabian Football Federation's Competitions Committee has approved the schedule for the second edition of the U-17 Girls' Premier League for the 2026-2027 season. Eight clubs will participate, continuing the efforts to develop youth competitions and enhance the competitive trajectory of promising young female footballers in the Kingdom.
The new season will feature Al-Hilal, Al-Ittihad, Al-Nassr, Al-Ahli, Al-Qadisiyah, Sho'la Al-Sharqiyah, Al-Ula, and Jeddah United Academy.
The teams will compete for the league title in a competition designed to raise the players' level and increase their experience through continuous interaction and regular competition.
The continuation of the Girls' Premier League is an extension of the SAFF's efforts to build a sustainable talent base by providing a progressive competitive path that allows players to develop their technical and physical abilities, paving the way for them to reach the national teams and represent the Kingdom in future competitions.
The Girls' U-17 Premier League is a key stage within the youth competition system, running parallel to the First Division League. This broadens participation and provides more clubs and players with opportunities to develop and gain competitive experience at various levels.
For her part, Alia bint Abdulaziz Al-Rashid, Director of Women's Football at the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, affirmed that the league's continuation and its second edition reflect the growing interest in developing youth categories.
She stated, "The continuation of the Girls' U-17 Premier League is a significant step in building the future of women's football, as this competition provides promising players with the opportunity to develop and gain experience at a young age. We look forward to a new season with advanced competitive levels that will contribute to discovering more talents and preparing them to represent the national teams in the future."
It is worth mentioning that Al-Hilal won the title in the first edition, while Al-Ittihad finished in second place.
