The draw for the fourth edition of the SAFF Women’s Cup for 2026–2027 season took place today, Monday, via video conference from the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) headquarters, featuring 16 participating teams.
The participating clubs were divided into two tiers, with eight teams in each based on their standings from the previous season.
Tier 1 includes Al-Nassr, Al-Ahli, Al-Ittihad, Al-Qadsiah, Al-Hilal, Al-Ula, Neom, and Al-Taraji, while Tier 2 comprises Shoalat Al-Sharqiyah, Al-Himmah, Al-Yarmouk, Najmat Jeddah, Ittihad Al-Nusoor, Al-Shams, Al-Qunfudhah, and Al-Hijaz.
The SAFF Women's Cup will be played using a knockout format, starting from the Round of 16.
The Saudi Arabian Football Federation also approved the tournament's prize money: the champion will receive SAR 1,000,000, the runner-up SAR 500,000, and the third-place team SAR 200,000.
For her part, Alia bint Abdulaziz Al-Rasheed, Director of the Women's Football Department at the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, emphasized that holding the tournament for a fourth season reflects the development and continuity of women's competitions.
She stated that, "Reaching the fourth season of the Federation Cup marks a new milestone in the evolution of women's football and reflects the continuity and growth seen in local competitions. Through this season, we look forward to further fostering competition among clubs and providing more opportunities for players to showcase their abilities and enhance their technical skills."
It is worth noting that Al-Nassr Club won the SAFF Women's Cup title last season after defeating Al-Hilal, who finished as runners-up, while Al-Ula Club secured third place.
