The Referees Committee meets with the refereeing analysts on the television channels and the media

Today, Monday, the Referees Committee of the Saudi Football Association held its second periodic meeting with a number of refereeing analysts in television channels and the media in the presence of the Chairman of the Committee, Fernando Tresaco, and Director of the Swiss Referees Department, Manuel Navarro, with the participation of 5 analysts, namely Professors Omar Al-Muhanna, Abdel Rahman Al-Zaid, and Saad Al-Kathiri, and Mutrif Al-Qahtani, and Mujb Al-Dossary.

During the meeting, Tresaco stressed his keenness to maintain constant communication between the Referees Committee and all elements of football, whether with clubs or with media employees.

The meeting witnessed the Director of the Referees Department, Manuel Navarro, reviewing the VAR protocol with a practical application to the mechanism of the technology in accordance with the football law issued by the International Federation of Football Association (IFAB) Board of Directors. The Director of Video Technology of the Saudi Federation, Mr. Maher Shunnar gave a detailed explanation of ways to develop Infiltration lines (Cross Hair) according to the technology protocol, and explain the communication mechanism between the technology operators and the VAR or AVAR, according to the approved protocol.

The Spaniard Teresaco stressed that the committee is keen to work together with those interested in football and meet them in an effort to build bridges of cooperation, trust and transparency, as success is a requirement for all.

Indicating that the committee is keen to clarify the committee's work mechanism and technology in a clearer way and to listen to all opinions and inquiries without prejudice to the freedom of criticism that the committee is very pleased with.

It is noteworthy that today's meeting is the second with referee analysts, as the first meeting was held on February 26, 2020, which comes within the committee’s strategy to communicate with all elements of the game including technical and administrative bodies, club heads and media personnel in order to explain and clarify all aspects related to the committee’s work and its efforts to develop the ruling Saudi, including in the end in favor of Saudi football.
