Al Misehal visits coach Al-Zayani in the presence of Al-Shehri, the coach of the U-23 AFC Asian Cup Champions

Today, Thursday, the President of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, Yasser Al Misehal, visited the major national coach Khalil Al-Zayani, who won the 1984 AFC Asian Cup with the national team, which is the first continental championship for the national team, which opened the door to writing an honorable history of Saudi football in Asia.

Al Misehal was reassured about the health of Al-Zayani, in the presence of a member of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation Board of Directors, Nazih Al-Nasr, the coach of the under-23 national team, Saad Al-Shehri, and a number of his family members.

The visit comes days after the historic crowning of our Olympic national team with the U-23 AFC Asian Cup, as an expression of their appreciation for his national contributions, which represent an unforgettable history of Saudi sports in general and football in particular.

The President of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation confirmed that this visit coincides with the ceremony for honoring the successful national coaches for the 2021-2022 season, which was held today in Riyadh, to represent a message that Captain Al-Zayani is a model for national coaches across generations, in sympathy for the achievements he has made for Saudi football, wishing him continued health and wellness.

It is noteworthy that the national teams succeeded in completing the Asian Championships with national coaches, starting with Khalil Al-Zayani with the first team in 1984, then the Junior AFC Asian Cup under the leadership of the national coach Mohammed Al-Kharashi in 1985, then achieving the 2018 Youth AFC Asian Cup under the leadership of Khaled Al-Atwi, to complete the championships with Saad Al-Shehri, By winning the U-23 AFC Asian Cup.
