Al-Arifi crowns Al-Nassr with the Women’s Premier League title in its first edition

The Assistant Minister of Sports for Sports Affairs, Adwaa bint Abdul Rahman Al-Arifi, in the presence of the member of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation and the general supervisor of the Women’s Football Department, Lamia bint Ibrahim bin Bahian, and the Director of the Women’s Football Department, Alia Al-Rasheed, crowned Al-Nassr with the Women’s Premier League Cup in its first edition of the 2022-2023 season.

Al-Nassr women achieved the league title after their victory, on Saturday, over Al-Yamama, 3-2, at Prince Abdul Rahman bin Saud Stadium in Al-Nassr Club, to raise its score to 35 points, to take the lead, 3 points ahead of Al-Hilal, who finished as a runner-up, after a 4-4 draw with Al-Ittihad.

Al-Nassr, the Premier League champion, won a financial reward of 500,000 riyals, while Al-Hilal won 300,000 riyals as the second-place prize, while Al-Shabab won 200,000 riyals as the third-place prize.

At the level of individual awards, Al-Nassr's player Mubaraka Al-Sayari won the best player award in the tournament, while Al-Hilal's player Shukhan Noureddine won the top scorer award in the tournament, while Al-Yamama's club player Laila Ali won the best goalkeeper award.

The member of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, Lamia bin Bahian, congratulated Al-Nassr Club for achieving the Women’s Premier League title, stressing that this great success that was achieved in the first season of the league would not have come without the generous support of the Ministry of Sports and the Board of Directors of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation. Praising the efforts of everyone who worked to produce this product.

Bin Bahian added that the distinguished level of the league will be greatly reflected in the development of the players, which will serve the goals of the women's national football team during the next stage.

The Director of the Women's Football Department, Alia Al-Rasheed, congratulated Al-Nassr Club for achieving this achievement, stressing the success of the desired goals of the Women's Football Department and the high level that the season witnessed through 56 matches.

She added that the next season of the Women's Premier League will witness many developments in all technical and organizational aspects, and that there are still many targets set for the development of the women's football sector in the Kingdom.
