The first-ever women's U-20 NT matches will take place in Jeddah

The newly established women’s under-20 national team – first-ever matches will take place in Jeddah next week as part of a nine-day training camp.

The Saudi Arabia women’s under-20s will play back-to-back international friendly matches against Mauritania next Wednesday (March 6) and Saturday (March 9) – coinciding with the team’s training camp from today to March 10.

With a talented roster of 24 players selected to participate, the training camp will lay strong foundations for growth and development moving forward with a series of high-intensity coaching sessions scheduled alongside the upcoming fixtures.

Additionally, the camp will provide the players with a unique platform to fine-tune their skills, enhance tactical understanding, and build the kind of chemistry that is essential for continuity, development and success in team sports.

With the team’s first-ever match fast approaching, an occasion of such significance for women’s football emphasizes the ever-increasing opportunities now being presented to women and young girls across the Kingdom.

The Saudi Arabian Football Federation recognises the importance of such opportunities in developing the players' skills, fostering their experience in international competitions, and promoting women's football in the Kingdom.

Aalia Al-Rasheed, Head of Women's Football Department at the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, expressed her enthusiasm ahead of the coming week, adding: “The Jeddah camp and coinciding matches represent an invaluable chance to strengthen team dynamics and instil confidence amongst the players. The winning combination of world-class training and meticulous preparation alongside the players’ commitment, determination, and skills will undoubtedly pave the way for outstanding performances in regional and international tournaments moving forward.”

The Saudi Arabian Football Federation extends its best wishes to the women's under-20 team ahead of a successful training camp and two highly anticipated fixtures. The Federation remains committed to supporting women's football on and off the pitch, nurturing up-and-coming talent whilst providing new opportunities across the ecosystem.
