
Women's Second Division League first edition kicks off with the participation of 25 teams

The Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) is pleased to announce the launch of the first edition of the Women's Second Division League, which will start on November 1, 2024, with the participation of 25 teams.
This league represents a new and important step in supporting women's football in the Kingdom.
The teams will compete in the group stage in a regional grouping system, where group matches will be held in a two-round league system (home and away), and eight teams will qualify for the final stage, which includes the five first-place winners and the best three second-place winners.
The final rounds will be held in a grouping system, starting with the quarter-finals in a single-match knockout system, where the first and second-place winners in the final rounds will qualify for the First Division League for the next season.
The financial prizes are part of the incentives for the participating teams, as the winning teams will receive financial prizes as follows:
- First place: 400,000 Saudi riyals
- Second place: 300,000 Saudi riyals
- Third place: 100,000 Saudi riyals
In this context, Alia Al-Rashid, Director of the Women's Football Department, expressed her enthusiasm for the launch of the Second Division Women's League, stressing that it represents an opportunity to showcase the skills of the players and highlight their capabilities, and indicated that the league will be an opportunity to discover and refine talents, which will enhance women's football in the Kingdom.
