WAFF Championship continues with 5 matches on Wednesday

The U-23 West Asian Football Federation Championship, which is hosted by Saudi Arabia from 4 to 14 October, will continue tomorrow, Wednesday, with 5 matches for the second round.

The national team opens its matches in the tournament against the Syrian national team at 17:45 at Prince Muhammad Bin Fahd Stadium in Dammam, for Group C.

The Syrian national team started its campaign by defeating Bahrain 4-1, as Youssef Muhammad, Ahmed Al-Khasi, Muhammad Al-Hallaq and Amin Khalil scored for Syria, while Abdullah Al-Hayek scored for Bahrain.

For the first group, Oman and Yemen will meet at Prince Saud bin Jalawi City Stadium at 15:30, while the Kuwaiti national team will face Jordan at the same stadium at 16:30.

The Omani national team leads the group with 3 points from its victory over Jordan in the first round with a goal scored by Issa Al-Nabei, while Yemen and Kuwait each have one point after their 1-1 draw in the first round, as Eid Al-Rashidi scored for Kuwait, while Omar Al-Dahi drew for Yemen.

For the third group, the Iraqi national team will face Uae at Prince Saud bin Jalawi City Stadium at 21:30 in the group’s summit match, while Lebanon and Palestine will meet for the same group at Prince Muhammad bin Fahd Stadium at 20:45.

The UAE national team started its campaign by defeating Lebanon 3-0 through Saeed Al Kaabi, Abdullah Al Naqbi and Ahmed Jamil, so UAE national team topped Group B with a goal difference from Iraq which who beat Palestine with a goal scored by Hassan Abdul Karim.
